A Science Museum membership pays for itself in less than two visits. You get unlimited visits for a year, movies included each time, discounted or free parking, and free entry to hundreds of museums worldwide.
There's an area of the Science Museum where you can bring a project and trade it for points. The more you know about your project, the more points you earn. Use those points to trade for scientific objects to take home and keep. We once brought in a fossil, and they sent it off to be identified and dated for free.
