International Children's Festival

May 29th-31. During the festival, kid-friendly activities spark creativity, exciting outdoor performances are free to attend and fun for the whole family! Thrilling performances, student matinees, art-making activities, and more. Low price Ordway shows also happen during this weekend.

Super FUN, and happens every year!

ART a Whirl

May 16-18. FREE. The largest open artist studio tour in the country, Art-A-Whirl happens annually throughout Northeast Minneapolis. 1600 artists, demos, activities, and music.

Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden

Free Wildflower garden. Garden walks, birding, story time for kids.

Nature Centers

Richardson Nature Center

Lots of programs and trails. There are also a variety of free resources for: bird watching backpacks, pond exploration kits, bug kits, frog kits and Nordic walking poles.

Gideon Pond House

Fun and educational programs held in the house and park. Free activities and events.

Tamarack Nature Center

Tamarack Nature Center offers programs for many age groups covering a wide variety of nature topics. Great play areas!

June 1 – October 26, 2025 "Alebrijes: Keepers of the Island" brings 16 vibrant, large-scale Alebrije sculptures to the heart of Saint Paul in a stunning outdoor exhibit celebrating Mexican folk art, culture, and imagination.
